BRFC Ruggers,

Here are some updates:

MEN’S SIDEBlackthorn Men’s side battled Reading this past Saturday and came out on the short end of a 32-16 score. Blackthorn’s Jabari Johnson scored a try in the second half on a beautiful 20 yard run through the Reading defenders. Robbie Vollrath was 3 for 3 on penalty kicks and also had a conversion to take home Blackthorn Man of the Match honors. The side: Brandon Walker, Blake Riddle, Brendan Petrilli, Pat Hayes, Rob Walls, Antoine Kesse, Travis Cliburn, Vince Umile, Jabari Johnson, Jerry Fillman, Cam Dutter, E Pearson, Jake Faight, Kevin Golden, Robbie Vollrath. Subs were used a lot on this hot day and included Jack Wetere, Nate Wright, Josh Hallowell, Nick McShane, John Porter.

OLD BOYS:  We have an old boys match scheduled vs. Media at our MKS day, Nov. 13.  Game is 11 am – 1 pm, right before men’s match.  Athletic Trainer will be available.  We need commitment from the Blackthorn old boys to make this happen.  We already have a handful of guys – me, Rodd, Scotty Bruce, Big Jim, Jason Dorwart, Blackthorn Bob, and more who are willing and able.  We need more names to round out the side.  Idea is to have a couple run-arounds before the match.  Please reply back and let me know your interest so we can count you in and add you to the Old Boys vs. Media list.

BARBARIANS:  They’ve already started practice, so come out on Monday evenings and work with the Barbarian athletes.  Northampton Rec Center fields, 345 Newtown-Richboro Road, in Richboro, PA.  6 PM start.

TOUR:  Get your deposits in to tour treasurer Joe McCreavy.

ANNIVERSARY PROGRAM:  We still need pictures from each decade!  Please contact Rodd Whitney to submit your pictures.

SKILLS CLINIC:  See the attached flyer.  Donal Walsh, our director of Player Development, has organized this skills clinic to better develop our active players and recruit/develop prospective players.  It happens every Sunday morning starting this weekend, 10:30 am -12:30 pm.
